Japanese Woodblock Bird Prints

An original 1880's collection of Bird imagery woodblocks by artist Numata Kashu, originally published in three volumes and titled : A Picture Book of Birds. This is a rare original volume and is beautifully reproduced by Dover.  
Over a hundred colourful prints show birds in flight, on branches and perches, with Cherry blossom and branches, waterfowl on rivers and in hundreds more natural scenes. Species include: ducks, skylarks, pheasant, grass sparrow, finches, snipe and many more Japanese native species.  High quality full page reproductions.
