Worlds of Enchantment: The Art of Maxfield Parrish

In the early decades of the Twentieth century Maxfield Parrish created hundreds of remarkable images for books, magazines, calendars and ads. This original collection spotlights work from the 1890s through the 1920s, with magazine art and advertising, including the famed Edison-Mazda Lamp series. Book illustrations include scenes from The Arabian Nights, The Knave of Hearts, Palgrave's Treasury, Tanglewood Tales and Poems of Childhood. Advertising images include Ferry's Seeds, Jell-O and Swift's Premium Ham and combine the high romantic, the fantastical and the everyday.
